Events

At Expeditions Wakefield, we’re all about getting people active and into the outdoors! We organize several weekly group activities that, unless otherwise stated, are free for people of all ages and abilities to join.

Here are some of our regular weekly events. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for any updates or changes due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Stand Up Paddle Board

Intro to Stand-up Paddle Board:

Monday Nights at 6:30pm (Starts Monday, July 4)

Unwind from a long day at the office and experience the sport of Stand-Up Paddle boarding along the Gatineau River. Get to know your board and feel confident & comfortable on the water by practicing basic SUP techniques: proper paddling, stance, using the core and shoulders etc.

All ages and abilities are welcome. Life jackets are required.

Sessions are $40 including board and equipment; classes are $30 if you have your own board. Spaces are limited so contact us to reserve a board prior to the class.

SUP Yoga:

Saturday mornings (9:30am) (Starts Wednesday, July 5)

Energizing and challenging and at the same time deeply relaxing. Join yoga instructor Diana from Yoga de la Source, while she helps to improve your balance, core strength, breathing and concentration.

Prior yoga experience required and students must feel comfortable on the water, paddling experience preferred.

Sessions are $40 including board and equipment; classes are $25 if you have your own board. Spaces are limited so contact us to reserve a board prior to the class.

Monthly Socials

Be sure to drop by for our Monthly Socials where we will arrange a speaker on a given outdoor topic. You’ll have a chance to sit back, relax with a beverage and connect with fellow local Wakefield outdoor enthusiasts. Visiting Wakefield and just in town for a holiday?
